I'm Back!

What, you didn't realise that I'd gone...? Didn't the unusual number of competitions give you a little hint? Oh well...

Yep, I'm back after a lovely week's holiday in Plymouth with the in-laws. Most relaxing :o) Now all I have to do is go back to work and see what waits for me there...
I didn't really want to come back but there was a pile of book parcels that sweetened the deal. Here's what was inside them all...

Three of these books will definitely be read. Two of them might be read. One of them won't be read at all. Which ones are which...? ;o)

Oh well, back to it! Expect to see a few more reviews this week than you did last week...

Umm I'm guessing Engineman isn't your thing? Is the Freda Warrington one start of something new? And I can't remember your views on steam punk...

Midsummer Night is a book set in the same universe as Elfland some 18 years later, though it has mostly different characters and only few allusions. A bit unexpectedly, it was one of the best books I've read this year

Hmmm. I'm thinking you should pitch all these. And pick up...

The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson

Out of the Dark by David Weber

Crown of the Blood by Gav Thorpe

and Monster Hunter International by Larry Correia (as much as you like zombies this is really your thing)

Crown of the Blood by Gav Thorpe already has a quote by Graeme on it, Nick (now how cool is that?)

And if you're not picking up Steampunk Reloaded, I can give it a good home! it's that or I wait until it comes out on general release and devour a copy xD

I'm guessing you won't be reading Corum? Like me you've got them in other editions ;)

Oops I must have missed the Graeme quote, my apologies. I'm really excited for that one. Pornokitsch did a dinosaur punching review on it and I'm eager to read.

I just typed a really long comment and the computer ate it... :o(

To sum up then...

Lee got it bang on the money!

Gav - I'm always intrigued by what Steampunk has to offer but I'm not a huge fan. I just haven't read enough of it...

greatalexanders - thanks for pointing out the quote thing, I hadn't realised :o) Apparently I've been saying nice things about Gav Thorpe (he deserves it!)
