I would have found maths lessons a whole lot easier to understand if the teacher had used zombies in the examples... :o)
Students at the University of Ottawa have come up with a mathematical model that predicts the rate of zombie growth and tells us what we really should be doing in such a situation (if you've seen any zombie films then you already know what you should be doing, it involves a chainsaw...)
Are mathematicians finally taking this threat seriously or were a bunch of drunk students watching a Romero film? You decide...

Max Brooks says/shows/hints that a chainsaw would be partially effective, but that a chainsaw is a little to flimsy and thin to last long. He says/shows/hints to locate a building on a hill-a building that is easily defensible-and store food supplies and whatnot there. Hold the Zombies off w/shotguns and other good spreading projectile weapons, and then use sledgehammers, big blunt weapons or nice sharp swords as melee weapons. And of course; always aim for the head.
There are few Zombies that cannot be stopped with a Hi-Ex .50 round....
The SGC - Good point. Once you run out of petrol, a chainsaw isn't much more than a glorified club that could well snap at an inopportune moment. Blunt weapons are the way forward :o)
Mr B - Also true but what happens when you run out of ammo? Get yourself a hammer, you can kill zombies with it and do diy on your shelter all at the same time :o)
