I've never read anything by...
Is this an attempt to draw some attention to the books on the pile that are doing stalwart work propping the rest up but haven’t been read at all? Or is this an attempt to come up with something for the blog while the demands of house decorating/moving etc take up my reading time? Could be either really but one thing this post is about is finding out what you guys think about all the books that you’ve read but I haven’t had time to…
Ladies and Gentlemen, today’s ‘I’ve never read anything by’ post is all about one Gail Z. Martin, an author whose books have been sat in the pile for a long old time now but haven’t been picked up for a read.
The release of ‘Dark Lady’s Chosen’ pricked my conscience and I will be starting ‘The Summoner’ fairly soon(ish). In the meantime though, are these books that you’ve read? What did you think of them? Are you eagerly awaiting ‘Dark Lady’s Chosen’ or did you stop reading the series a while ago? All comments are gratefully received!
Here's the book trailer for 'Dark Haven' and 'Dark Lady's Chosen' if you fancy a look...
Gail has also very kindly agreed to provide a guest post for the blog in the very near future so keep an eye open for that...

I have read the first three, and 'Dark Lady's Chosen' is in my own to-read pile. I really like the books, and would recommend them.
Alec recently put up a review of The Summoner at Only the Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy and I'll definitely be avoiding this series.
I like Gail's books. I read the first two very quickly but it took a bit for me to read the third (which I did in January - there is a review on my blog). I picked up Dark Lady's Chosen the week it came out and hope to get to it soon.
Minor Spoiler - If you read Dark Haven, make sure to have Dark Lady's Chosen ready if you can't handle cliff hangers.
I read The Summoner, but I have to admit I wasn't terribly impressed - it's on the weaker end of the fantasy spectrum to my mind... I therefore abandoned the idea of reading the rest of the series, whose name was the most appealing aspect.
hmmm...i was lured by the first title and being a obsessive series completer (hehe) i purchased the other two...
Found them to be okay, on a scale of 10, i would rate the series between 6.5 and 7...
anyway, i liked the world building, the innovative use of vampires :-), the warrior princess the atmosphere created and overall i would say a fair enough read for a rainy day...
will keep a look out for the latest...
Gail Z. Martin is a pitiful writer. There really is no nicer way to put it. The first book as the worst fantasy book I've ever read. Well, the 50 or so pages I read before I through it away...
