Not the blog...
For all that I love reading books, and talking about them here, there are a couple of things in my life that make books look like, well… just a bunch of words on some paper. One of the real loves in my life is celebrating her first birthday today (she was born at twenty to four in the morning). This time last year Hope looked like this,
Now she looks like this (celebrating the Royal Wedding on Friday)
Happy Birthday Hope Aleta, this last year has been the best ever and it’s all down to you. You are funny and clever and have the loveliest smile I’ve ever seen. I’d really appreciate it though if you’d stop taking my books off the shelves and throwing them everywhere, please? ;o)
I had to pull all the books off the bottom two shelves of all my book cases for several months because both of mine liked to pull the pages out of my books and eat them when they were little...so I know the feeling. :D
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! It's already been a year? My baby girl just turned 11-- so I know the feeling. I can't say when the books will be safe. My son was a terror until he was two and a half...
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Hope. She is lovely. My girl turned 14 yesterday and has her party today. Let's hope the rain holds off for both of them.
ReplyDeleteLOL - I'm a grandma and I STILL have to contend with books all over the house. haha. I don't really mind though. I think they (the babes) see us reading and so they want to grab the books themselves. Both my own children and now my grandchildren have all done this. I even have a picture floating around somewhere of my two grandchildren in cahoots, "rearraging" my books for me, from the shelves to the floor.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter looks precious. Happy Birthday to her, and enjoy your fatherhood - they really do grow up way too fast. But then they give you grandchilrend to make up for it. :)
Lovely completely agree my kids are my world too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Hope!
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't have a children of my own, I do take care of my sister's two VERY active children.
Enjoy every minute. Time pass so fast. My daughter turns 20 in November.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Hope.
My daughter will be one year old on May 5th. The only thing that's saved my books is they are behind closed heavy glass doors. Her bookshelf on the otherhand is scattered about her room.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to the lovely Hope and congratulations to you; what a proud papa you are!
ReplyDeleteAww she's adorable! I hope you guys had a great day yesterday :-) And I know about the books. I spend a lot of time keeping my books away from Emma!
ReplyDeleteMy eldest baby turned 14 last month. She's nearly taller than me... how did that happen and where did that time go? Her and I are off out jogging in a mo (well, a pretence at what we call jogging) seems like just a few months ago I was pushing her in her pram.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Hope :)
Graeme - your books will never be safe, I keep finding mine in my daughters bedrooms ;)
Awesome, Graham. She's beautiful. :-)
