Good news if you have an iPhone...

Michael Bhaskar (Pan Macmillan) sent me an email that I think anyone who has an iPhone will be interested in...

Pan Macmillan have made excerpts from some of their SFF books available for download directly onto the iPhone which sounds like a good idea if you want to have a little 'taster' of a book before you go out and buy the whole thing. If you're after the whole book then you have to download it to your PC first and then synch it with your iPhone. For more information, have a look over Here or Here...

I don't have an iPhone, I don't even have a phone right now (I really need to do something about that)...

  1. This is actually pretty cool news. I have been reading Mistborn on my iPhone and I'm liking it quite a bit, especially for commuting. Now if you had an iPhone you wouldn't have to worry about trying to pack those Hamilton books with you on your commute. The one big problem though is there is no difference in price between the ebook and hardcover. Come on guys, pass some of those distribution savings on to us !

Or us that additional income to inject into better digital files, more availability of titles and give more money back to the authors? Just a thought.

I've been playing with Stanza (the iPhone ebook software) and I'm impressed. It's definitely got rid of some of the craving for an Sony e-reader. The only thing I would say is that as the screen is small on the iPhone so is the text but I've got ok eyes so not a problem so far.
