Much of the action takes place in and around the Capitol city, but I wouldn't expect this book to be classed as urban fantasy.

Cheers

RussRussell Whitfieldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10612965769768795477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8679457768571800783.post-80303651833991838342007-11-03T23:13:00.000+00:002007-11-03T23:13:00.000+00:00Urban Fanstasy to me is anything in an urban setti...Urban Fanstasy to me is anything in an urban setting with technology that goes beyond the medieval. Their meanings aren't just a combination of the meanings of the individual words; they have different, more specific meanings to refer to [sub]genres.

I'm with Robert on the meaning. There should be a modern/contemporary setting and fantastical elements. The setting is pretty specific for "urban fantasy."Kendallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09127409362906807882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8679457768571800783.post-25919230066514868672007-11-02T14:41:00.000+00:002007-11-02T14:41:00.000+00:00Personally, when I think of urban fantasy, I think...Personally, when I think of urban fantasy, I think of a contemporary setting infused with the supernatural. Obviously that has a lot to do with my Laurell K.
