Ah well, I'll just keep hoping for a return to form with his next one, then...Heloisehttp://heloise2nd.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8679457768571800783.post-51521632663016807972011-11-23T20:19:06.024+00:002011-11-23T20:19:06.024+00:00I hadn't read Infernal City, but like you I ha...I hadn't read Infernal City, but like you I had (at least for the most part) loved Kingdoms of Thorn and Bone (honestly, it was never better than The Briar King, but still in general a high quality series) so when a review copy of Lord of Souls showed up I was excited to give it a try - even knowing I might have some trouble having not read the first book. Unfortunately, it is not new reader friendly at all - made worse by the fact that it seemed fairly boring and impenetrable to me. I gave up after about 50 pages, and really I only stuck it out that long because of how much I loved his prior work. If it had been a new author to me, I wouldn't have made it past the first few pages.Jim Haleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11674061625786617635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8679457768571800783.post-33829432224730543842011-11-23T19:58:40.195+00:002011-11-23T19:58:40.195+00:00Ouch 5???
